This was my first Heather Lindsey book. At first I thought it was just a vegan recipe cookbook but then I discovered it is actually a 30 day devotional with recipes at the end. I like Heather Lindsey but this book was just a little too simple. I was reading 2 other devotionals as well as my Bible during the month that I read this book and I found myself reading this one just to get it out of the way. The devotionals were a little too elementary. I fund myself rolling my eyes and sighing sometimes because it was just like duh. It seems like her audience is "baby christians" or young girls with low self esteem. I didn't find myself learning anything insightful from her devotionals and the same goes for her health tips. It may be that I'm a health-conscious vegetarian so her tips were nothing new.
Pretty much instead of a perfect recipe, this book should have been called a simple recipe because that's what the devotionals and health tips were; simple. The recipes themselves looked simple to make but they just did not sound good. Perhaps some pictures would have encouraged me to go out and by the fresh veggies or run around town to find the spices but the names of the recipes and ingredients were enough to make me say nope not worth it.

This book was not bad. It just was not good.
