As a second grade teacher, and a mom of young children, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It inspires a love of the national parks while inviting children to appreciate and nurture the world around them. Ranger baldy teaches us all a lesson while bringing us along on his magical adventures. I highly recommend this book to parents, grandparents and teachers. Both the children in my class, as well as my own children were entranced my the descriptive language and characters that came to life. My hope is that ranger Baldy will take us on more adventures and teach us about other national parks!
I liked it. I think it was a good book and I like the animals and pictures. Matthew age 9.
I got this as a first read book, obviously for my children and my son wanted to write his own review. This is a mystery book that explains some of the natural occurrences at Yosemite. I liked the main character, Ranger Baldy. He gave plenty of opportunities for youngsters to guess what they thought was happening. It was a easy read for young readers.
Big pictures to go along with text as would expect from a book about a national park. Sweet life lessons incorporated into the adventures of the eagle. Would make a nice gift book.
