This Indiana Jones esq. adventure book was written by someone who had heard of New Mexico only by rough description, and then set out to write an adventure story that highlighted only the bad parts. The opening chapters are so bad that I almost gave up, but it turns out to be a rip-roaring story. In fact someone nearly dies at the end of every chapter. It wasn't bad, but for the same action effect Indiana Jones is a much better choice. But then the author totally dumped on the state where I was raised, and the book was all downhill for me.
