8/7/2013- 8/22/2015- “Compared to the first two books in this series, this one felt really different. This third book had a bit more Spiritual Content and focuses on put-downs and nicknames.”
*Main Content- A bit of sarcasm; Mean nicknames about Abby's weight; A couple mentions of gambling; A mention of someone's mom who left; four 'stupid's, two 'duh's, two 'sheesh's, and a 'shoot'; Abby dislikes how she's gained weight (words like 'hate' and 'fat' are used in regards to her opinion); A mention of eating disorders; Mentions of cute guys; seven forms of 'babe' and a 'hottie'.
This was a sweet (sometimes cheesy) book about a 16 year old girl who becomes an emotional eater after her father passes away. She and her mother move to San Francisco and she gets the opportunity to be in a weight loss reality show. There are a lot of lessons learned along the way and the story sends a good message. Overall, a wholesome, enjoyable book.
