Students can have a little imaginary fun, all while working our math word problems. Challenge students that are ready, while transitioning other students up to working independently on problems. There are 4 levels for each problem, that are distinguished by small stars beside the problem type and with-in the answer key to help the teacher differentiate without it being noticeable to the students. This allows you to work out the first problem with students as a model if desired and then allow students to work their way through the other levels if you students are ready. The answer key is in the back of the book. To grade you can use the rubric at the end for the whole math problem or separate each aspect and grade using the Common Core Math Practice Standards that are identified, as well as, the overall standard for the problem. Included in the back is also a blank template for you to create or use other word problems but allow students to follow the same pattern.
