About the author

Patrick Livingston Murphy Williams was an American sports executive, who served as senior vice president of the Orlando Magic. Williams began his career as a minor league baseball player, and later joined the front office of his team. In the late 1960s he moved into basketball, with his biggest achievements being the 1983 title of the Philadelphia 76'ers and being a partner in the creation of the Orlando Magic.

Triumph, by Pat Williams, is my one hundred and twenty seventh book that I have received and read from Goodreads. This book has really great stories about athletes and their powerful confessions about their faith. It describes the trusting, rejoicing, inspiring, understanding, meditating, praising, and honoring aspects of truly victorious athletics. Some of the athletes are: Kurt Warner, Mickey Mantle, Tony Dungy, Jim Ryan, Nancy Lieberman, Bernie Carbo, David Robinson, Andy Pettitte, Kay Yow, and alot more.
This book is made of compartments of short stories. They are anywhere from one to four pages in length. Each story tells us about different athletes, and their trusting and praising and honoring God. Each story is inspiring, and tells us how the athlete found god, and how God used them to better themselves not only in sports, but to better themselves in life. BY reading these stories you can see and feel how God can come into your life.
This book is for anyone.

I won this book in a goodreads giveaway and I am very thankful for that.This books is awesome,they are short stories of about 2-4 pages long about different athletes.The book is divided in 7 seccions:trusting,rejoicing,inspiring,understanding,meditating,praising,and honoring.That was really nice because I could just choose a topic I wanted and read a story about it.Also I found this book very inspiring.I personally am not a fan of sports,but if you like sports you surely are going to enjoy this book.The book is really short and quick,and I would absolutely recommend it to someone who likes sports and inspiring books.

What a compelling group of short stories. The heart of the book is that athletes have faith in God and find that calling is what makes their life complete, more fulfilling. Athletes, coaches, front office executives are seen as being more superior than others, that is just nonsense; they are human beings as you and I are--in this book you will see first hand that big, huge, tall, bulky athletes believe in God and are proud of it... Material items, notoriety, money and fame have enabled these athletes to say it is okay to believe and have faith, and that it is cool to do so.
