From the moment Kate meets Dan Kala on the big island of Hawaii, her world is turned upside down. She thinks that someone is following her. Is it Dan? Or is she suffering "mental lapses" as another man accused her of years ago? Soon Kate finds herself being dragged headlong into a nightmare of events that make her doubt her own reason. From the author of "I'll Love You Till I Die".
So far, so good. I love the gothic suspense ones by this author, though I think she only has a few. It seems her work got worse over time, but I'm not sure...
This one is great. O'Brien reminds me a bit of Barbara Michaels; that's a good thing. Hawaiian history is used as a backdrop and major plot device in the novel.
