With the recent shortage of organic eggs in our area's stores, this is something I really wanted to look into. I value healthy, organic, non-hormone eggs for our family. I liked the recommendations of specific breeds for laying and their strengths, as well as other care tips and advice needed for raising chickens. This gave me a great start to start this endeavor.

My chicks are laying now, and I wanted a book that was more informative on problems and solutions: soft-shelled or shell-less eggs; not laying in the nests; how to keep them laying over the winter; etc
