I really enjoyed reading this book. I have only recently started reading more and more zombie books. I am surprised to notice that they are growing on me. I’m not exactly what it is, maybe it’s the concepts of people either coming together to help one another, maybe it’s the violence of people attempting to survive and kill everything that threatens them. Or maybe it’s that zombie apocalypse books give me ideas of what I should and shouldn’t do if it ever does happen! Whatever it is, Zombie books are quickly becoming a favorite.

Still Dying is full of short little snippets of stories that goes along with the characters that Rosamilia introduces in his Dying Days books. I have not yet read Dying Days, but now that I have read Still Dying, I am definitely going to read every book in the Dying Days series. I just can’t wait to see what else is going on with the characters. I want to know more about all of them!

I don’t think reading Still Dying first will ruin your experience of reading Dying Days. And you won’t feel lost either. Rosamilia does a great job of giving the reader enough information on each character to give them an idea of who they are without giving away their whole story, thus leaving the reader looking to learn more about each of them.

While each story is pretty short, there is a ton of action packed into each one. Rosamilia is good at giving each character a unique experience while keeping them all interwoven in some way. It isn’t huge obvious connection between them, but more of a slight comment or a quick scenery description that tells the reader there is a common element between them. His characters are all quite human in the sense that they all possess something within their descriptions that the reader can identify or sympathize with in some way.

Rosamilia does present a…unique…concept with his zombies that I’m honestly not sure how I feel about. It’s somewhat hard for me to explain, so I’ll do my best. These zombies are rapists. Aside from the obvious dislike/discomfort that comes with the rape concept in books, there is something different here. Normally, rape is something of a deal breaker for me when it comes to books. I’m ok with the implied, but I don’t want to read more than that. This author does a good job of mentioning that it is occurring, but no more detail than that. That works for me. It was definitely NOT a main theme, so it’s actually pretty easy to overlook

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys zombie apocalypse books. It was a great read and I really am looking forward to reading more of Armand Rosamilia’s books.

This is a collection of stories that follow various characters from other Dying Days titles as they enter the zombie apocalypse: Jeff Beesler; Russ “Madman” Meyer; David Monsour; Michael Ross; Steve “The Breeze” Brack; Noah Stern; M.J. O’Neill; Brenda Ellis; Morris Chambers; Tosha Shorb; The Conner Family; and Armand Rosamilia.

Still Dying: Select Scenes from Dying Days is a collection of backstories of various characters in the Dying Days series. They are well written, entertaining, and interesting. Grammar mistakes are few and far between.
