Author Mike DeVita details a sixty plus period of correspondance with Hollywood Icon, Doris Day, whom he considers the single most important constant in his life. He shows how their two lives and careers intertwined and how Doris had a profount affect on him. He only met her once, as a child when she was performing with the Les Brown Band in the mid 1940's but that meeting left a profound mark on his entire life. In the course of the narrative Mike talks about a lot of Doris' movies and music as well. The book's title is explained in the narrative.
