Her love for her house, family, and friends paints a picture of contentment, with only one element missing—someone to share it all with. Enter the charismatic Greg Delaney, prompting dreams and aspirations that may not align with Rosie and Sophie's expectations. As discussions in the Pink Parrot shift from boyfriends to wedding plans, the passage of years poses a Will they, at their joint fiftieth birthday celebration, still be able to raise their glasses and affirm, "Forever friends! May nothing ever come between us?" Join Maddy, Rosie, and Sophie on a journey through love, challenges, and the enduring strength of friendship.

This was a really good holiday read, but I must admit I was slightly disappointed by the lack of depth or complexity. Maddy and Greg were well rounded and interesting, but everyone else stayed rather cardboard for me. Having enjoyed her other three so much, I rather wondered if this might have been a "buffed up" earlier work. Not bad, just not as good as I'd hoped.

If you like books about dedicated career women who never make a mistake, this book is right up your alley. I found the heroine a bit overboard, and I prefer a story that shows emotional development over achievement in the business sector. This book, in my opinion, left a lot to be desired.

The story is told in the voice of Maddy, a highly successful sales woman in a long standing estate agent's in Dublin. Growing up she couldn't wish for better friends than Rosie and Sophie and from no age they swear they will be " Forever Friends". The novel is set around Maddy's love life and her ability to grow in the company she has been with since she left school. A keen eye for redevelopment she buys her first house, a run down one and with the help of a local builder turns it into something worth owning. Continuing their friendship theme Maddy lets her friends move in with her and her life flourishes. But will they still be friends when they are 50? The prologue to the book starts with Maddy's 50th birthday party arranged for her by her children then tells the tale through the years dealing not only with her love life, friendship but also the struggle of working in a male dominated business .Well written as are all this author's books with a very satisfactory outcome for me.

A great holiday read. The story is interesting with good characters. Fairly predictable, but enjoyed whilst on my sunbed!
