If you want a warm hearted romantic comedy with a central character that could be you, then try this chick lit novel, the stunning debut book from Rosie Dean. Millie is a great friend, a good daughter, puts something back into the community by overseeing a youth amateur dramatics group and has a wicked sense of humour. She has a great job that she loves (well, most of the time) and a busy life. But there's still something missing - Mr Right. So Millie being Millie doesn't sit at home waiting for her knight in shining armour to come along, she comes up with a plan to bag the man of her dreams. And where better to start than the local cricket club.
All the characters in this perfectly executed novel are rounded and true to life, without being clichéd. Each chapter has been carefully crafted with a twisting and turning plot, which leaves you rooting for Millie and hoping that she picks the right man. So follow Millie's hilarious exploits and the ups and down of her love life and home life as she struggles to get her game plan right. You'll be glad you did - I was!

What elevates Millie's Game Plan from the usual Chick Lit offerings is the author's sense of fun, which is clearly evident in her writing. Another plus point is the refreshingly risque dialogue which emerges frequently enough to be enjoyable but not enough to become boring. An excellent beginning to what I suspect will be a long career.

A fun book, I like the idea of meeting your mate by going around to sports matches and taking pictures. It's very cute. The story was much less fluffy than I thought it was going to be when I first started it which was a great surprise, the characters were are very well rounded and interesting.

I especially liked Vonnie, a big surprise there. :)

This book had been on my kindle waiting to be read for far too long. I kept putting it off because it's quite a lengthy one. However I need to keep reminding myself that long books aren't always boring!! And this one certainly wasn't. It started off quite slowly but I soon got into it and by the end of it I found myself smiling as 2 characters finally got together! Would recommend.

I know most of you might think it’s very dull but I ADORE cricket. And so to find a romance novel combined with cricket, well, I was nearly in heaven. Just needed a big bowl of rhubarb crumble and I’d be the happiest girl alive.

This is the first book I’ve read by Rosie Dean and I’m smitten. Her writing is witty, confident and utterly absorbing. The story may be a typical boy-meets-girl arc, but the plot winds in unexpected directions which had me hooked and I never wanted to emerge from our heroine, Millie’s, world.

Millie thinks it’s time to settle down. She plans with precision a way to meet Mr Right: take photos of local cricket teams and find the most handsome man with the best prospects and make a beeline for him. Ah, if only things were so straight forward…

Josh, the most heart-stoppingly gorgeous man she finds, doesn’t quite reach her standards but luckily sexy Lex does…and he can’t seem to wait to show her a good time. It must be love. But then, why can’t she get Josh out of her mind?

Millie’s quest for love takes her into glamourous, dangerous, and sometimes downright bizarre situations…and will it all be worth it in the end?

Loved it, loved it, loved it. And I defy any reader not to fall for strong but vulnerable Millie (…what do you mean she’s fictional???). Go on, give her a try!

Here are some 5* reviews from readers on Amazon:

"Millie's game plan was funny and warm hearted in an upbeat way. I totally believed in Millie and loved Josh the 'trendy vicar.' The writing was good and the plot line convincing. Once I got started, I was hooked and kept reading snippets even when I should be doing other things. Will look out for her next book." by Pepperpot 10.04.14

"A thoroughly enjoyable read where you are gripped by how events will pan out for Millie. The novel lightens your mood with subtle humour and images of a British summer and the characters involved entice you in to invest time and see-sawing emotions in the ever changing story line. I loved it too!" by Kelly 19.02.14

"This is a lovely story with fun and excitement.
If you find you want to relax, chill, forget real life read this.
And for all young ladies out there who are not in a relationship this book May give you a fun idea. Well worth a rrad" by Unknown 10.03.14

"This book is quite complex but funny with it. I have to laugh at the machinations of "Millie". This story is similar to many others but put across in a different way. Get this if you want a good read." by M Lovett 12.01.14

Millie’s Game Plan is a HIT!
Take the high road, be patient and Mr. Right will find you. Isn’t that what good girls are suppose to do? Life doesn’t always turn out the way we plan, Amen to that statement!
Sometimes you just have to take the bull by the horns and that is exactly what Millie does. She comes up with a way to find her own Mr. Right. The Plan… pose as a photographer, go to local cricket matches, take pictures of the good looking men, weed out the unavailable and go from there. It sounds simple. Well nothing is ever simple when it comes to true love. Two Mr. Wrongs don’t make a Mr. Right, does it?
Author Rosie Dean’s debut book is a hit! The storyline is refreshing. It has just the right amount of comedy and drama.
Keep writing Rosie, you’ve got what it takes!

A fun contemporary romance and a stunning debut!

Camilla [ Millie] spends her days working all hours for F.A.B Marketing, where she is not afraid to get up close and personal with the client behind the Dream Gelato exhibition stand.
Dyscalculic and desperate for romance, Mille eventually has had enough of being set up on dates by her mother and spending her evenings on the local youth drama club, so she comes up with a wish list for the perfect boyfriend.
And where else to track down these paragons but the Hampshire cricketing circuit. Sexy Josh seems ideal, until she discovers that he is the vicar, but then handsome wine merchant Lex sweeps her off her feet. On paper he ticks all the boxes.
But will a night alone with Josh change Millie's mind about who is the better man?
Great characters with a real emotional heart are backed up by a page turning narrative make this a fun read.

Good mix of mystery and romance.

Just the right mix of romance ,crime and mystery. Keeps the reader guessing which man Millie will be with in the. And who the criminal is. The guilty person was a surprise. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a good mix of romance and mystery.

Such a nice book and Millie, such a character...I really liked the way she decided to look for the significant other in her life - taking photos of cricket players and preparing spreadsheets and stuff...and I am glad it all worked well for her in the end.

Light hearted fun

A light book of fun. Ideal for reading by the pool on your holidays or for times when you don't want anything to intense. Loved the fact there was crime solving and a twist in it.

I've had this story lurking on my kindle for ages, but was just in the mood for some chick lit this weekend - and Millie's Game Plan really hit the spot. It was skillfully written. The main characters were well rounded - I liked the heroine and really wanted her to find her happy-ever-after.
