There is a depth to CHM that probably escapes some moderns. In an age of instant gratification these books are a stretch to those of little patience, little wisdom and little interest in the deep things of God. Not that these books are hard to understand- no, no. But they are not meant for rapid consumption. They are made for the serious student of the Word of God who want not only to be taught but to be enlightened. Don't try to read a chapter like you would a graphic novel but settle in, let the words sink in, and come forth bearing pearls.
