Parents preparing a child for school - a simple and cute little story:-
Uncle Amos once again takes us into preparing our children for school.
Johnny who lives on a farm surrounded by his loving farm animals now turns six years old and enjoys his birthday party. His mother now begins to explain that he will be going to school to start his first grade and will be leaving the farm to go into reading and learning which excites him and ready to go out into the reality of life ahead. He tells his farm animals friends of his big adventure ahead and insures them that he will be back with them soon.
Highly recommended for parent to child with a simple fun read and a way in preparing their children to face the reality of leaving home to begin school.

My daughter is so excited about growing up. One of the big "to do" things on her list is to start school. She starts kindergarten next year and is so full of questions about what she is going to experience. Johnny Goes to First Grade is a great book to start the conversation with your child about starting school.

Uncle Amos weaves a fun tale about Johnny as he learns that he is going to first grade. Johnny so excited he starts by telling all the animals about the things he is going to learn at school. Then as the family celebrates his sixth birthday they prepare him with all the supplies he's going to need.

Johnny Goes to First Grade is the perfect story to start talking to your child about what he/she is going to experience in school too.

My daughter loved the bright and colourful pictures. We enjoyed counting the farm animals together. We found that each image had something new to talk about. The book also brought up topics like what a compromise is and about "trading" items with our friends. I never thought about how I would talk to my daughter about trading her school supplies and this book has made me realize that this is a topic that I should discuss with her.

I did experience some formatting issues with the book, but that may simply be due to the fact that I'm reading the book on my tablet and not an actual e-reader.

Uncle Amos focused on the excitement of starting something new, instead of the fear and apprehension that many of use feel when embarking on a new adventure. Johnny Goes to First Grade is a great book geared toward pre-school children to help them deal with the fear and excitement of starting first grade (or kindergarten).

How exciting it is to start a new adventure. For Johnny going to the first grade is a great adventure. Although he misses his animal friends on the farm he finds new friends and new adventures when he enters the new, big world of first grade. This is a great book especially for kids who are venturing in to the big and sometimes scary world that is called school. This sweet tale is told in a way to make a frightening time fun and a little less scary. Thank you Uncle Amos for bringing this story to children. The pictures are beautiful as is the writing in this special book!
