I am not Jewish and the concept of Midrashim is new to me. I honestly cannot remember how I found this book, but I loved these stories! Don't skip the introduction. These are probably best suited to 9 or 10 year olds + who already have some familiarity with the old testament. They are so, so silly but each story delivers a nugget of wisdom and truth. Highly recommended!
Modern midrashic short stories, upper elementary or middle school level. Quite cute. The section on the 'commandments' got rather long and didn't follow the whimsy of the rest of the stories, but the book is worth checking out, especially for Hebrew School teachers or parents looking for something to read with kids.
