There is no one outside, only yourself. Take care and take time to open your presents. When you point one finger at another, you also point three fingers back to yourself.
There are 3 points from book that we can learn: 1) face to the truth that happened, admit the external people and affairs. 2) face to the deep heart of yourself, admit both your internal bright and dark sides 3) don't think too much about the future that hasn't happened.
Although there is some "chicken soap"(means nourishing) in the book, but it is also full of artificial words and unsuitable analogies, the citing of quantum mechanics experiment, the metaphor of energy and frequency, are all seriously mismatched with reality. This will broadcast the wrongly knowledge......
"Chicken soap" is good, but we have not to get it from this book. To sum up, "chicken soap" provided with rubbish will be worse than provide rubbish separately.
At first, I want to give only 1 star, but in the 2nd thought, people may also get rubbish from somewhere else. From this perspective, little "chicken soap" is better than never, I give it 2 stars finally.
You can quickly go though this book in 1~2 days, but you had better read it with critical thought.
I am not sure why this book was highly recommended in so many places. It is a "chicken soup" style book but I guess the author is not a good chef :/ The writing style is a bit plain dull, the story is semi-realistic and semi-fiction but just too weird, the connections between chapters are loose and awkward, and the idea conveyed was a bit too shallow. I did not find myself enjoy it, but there should be a reason (that I don't know) for this high rating.
It's an amazing book. There 's always something to learn. It unravels our unconcious mind and gives us tips to finding our true selves. Of course, the journey will be long. It is not as easy as it sounds since our unconciousness, aka 'true self', is clouded by many things, such as our perceptions, our own egos, etc. Take better habits, be mindful of our own thoughts, acceptance, precision, clear mind and persistance are the pathway to happier self (according to the book and to my interpretation/understanding).
Some negative points: the connection with the science (such as frequency, water memory, etc.) are not accurate or universally proven facts. The author used them to make her point, and we should be careful about those.
I will end my review with the following quotation.. " My dear .... there is no one outside except you " (everything happening externally is the result of our own reflection)
Recommended by mum. It’s heavily based on the psychodynamic theory which is usually not my jam, but the second half of the book was very eye opening and has inspired me to approach challenges that life presents us in a different way. It is written in a similar format as The Courage To Be Disliked, but has a stronger story arc. An easy and inspiring read!
I am deeply impressed by this book. No doubt it is the best book I have ever read. The book tells a story of a white collar women who confronted great tragedies in her life and how she went through them with the spiritual help and support from a senior person.
Those words and pieces of advice from the senior intellect struck me profoundly, making me start to question my usual way of thinking that was incorrect previously. They let me realise how slavery I am to my emotions and thoughts. They let me start to focus the inner part of things, of persons than the outside bewildering interference. They guide me to control my emotions, my thoughts and arrive in a state of happiness that I never have experienced before.
Living in a bewildering era that is materialistic, that is flattered with pride, prejudice and vanity, we put too much weight on all these outside world, blindly pursuing them and even rely our happiness on them, but unfortunately, we forget our inner heart. "True happiness comes from inside" It doesn't rely on anything outside, or deteriorate due to change of outside world.
This is really a good book for puzzled or stuck mind who find it hard to move forward. It helped me to anchor at the right position in my life. It is a treasure to me and I will definitely reread it in the future.
A book that is more than just a book. A book that truly taught me a lot of lessons especially on the ways to deal with the worst situation in my life. It is a gift to one's life, with words that really speak to me. It is a brilliant masterpiece for one's body, soul and mind. I love how deep the insights that this book gives. Worth reading and most importantly, worth applying in real life!
I do think I need peace joy and love. The more I read it, the more I can apply to myself. I am not a big fan of self-help book. But sometimes I do need them to think through the rough times of my life. Worth reading.
Everything makes lots of sense in this book especially after that experience actually happened to you, like you have opened the third eye and saw everything
