Selwyn Hughes was a Welsh Christian minister best known for writing the daily devotional Every Day with Jesus. He founded the Christian ministry CWR and wrote over fifty Christian books. George Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, described Hughes as a "giant in the faith".
This book is one of the few first non academic books I’ve started reading. I’d bought it in my summer vacation along with a few other books for summer reading and refreshing my spiritual realm. To be frank I’ve read it thoroughly more than 5 times and the 7 laws that Selwyn prescribed turned out to be life saving and they hold you out from backsliding.
Highly recommended. I have read this booka number of times now since I discovered years ago. It is part of the few books in my collection of books that I value the most. Together with the Bible, it is one of the few books, I would take with me if stranded on an Island.
This is an easy read that has a good overview of spiritual truths not tied to a specific religious tradition, and it was a helpful explanation of the concept of the law of attraction without saying so.
A solid book. Lots of anecdotes, quotes, biblical examples and honesty. I’d probably say the book ends quite abruptly and (despite having a preface and introduction) it doesn’t have a conclusion; hence the 4 stars, not 5.
This book was terrific, if I could only apply it more in my daily life - sort of a zen philosophy book on life and your existence in the universe, sorta self help, sorta motivational, definatly worth the read, recommended to EVERYONE.
I enjoy reading this book now as much as I did years ago when I first picked it up. A good read through the steps to maintain a good spiritual habit and the reasons are backed up with insightful thoughts from the author.
