A wise man once told me, "Read a book about grieving, when you are not currently grieving." This was his selection for me, and it was outstanding.

Raw, real, provocative, endearing and relevant. Describing a book written by a man who is in the throes of grief and in the midst of despair will never allow for a true reflection on what he shared without giving pause to the fact that he shared it. He shared his heart, his innermost thoughts, his pain is felt in every chapter, and yet the hope found in and from the person of the Lord Jesus Christ shines brightly through in the midst of the midnight experience. i highly recommend this book to everyone I know - whether you are in a trial or not - the truth shared contains immeasurable amounts of wisdom and truth.

Incredibly raw and beautiful look at grieving written by someone who was in the midst of it. Best quote of the book, "When Paul wrote, " I can do everything through him who gives strength" (Philippians 4:13), he was not boasting of his cleverness or aptitude in mastering circumstances. He was expressing deep confidence that in whatever condition- sickness or health, abundance or poverty, life or death- Christ would enable him to cope, even triumph. He experienced and preached what he truly believed: "In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us" (Romans 8:37)." -A Tearful Celebration

An excellent book (written by a former pastor of our church) that deals with loss in an open, honest way. Wish I would have read it sooner.
