All ages. The 1991 national winner of the Kids Are Authors contest, sponsored by PAGES Book Fairs, Inc. This fanciful, fun story is a great example of the best kind of picture one written and illustrated by children. The bright mixed-media illustrations are beautiful and the story is delightful.

First of all this book is amazing because it was illustrated by kids. Second of all the message if sends with the actual reading is awesome. We all need friends and we all need hugs!! Won the Kids Are Authors Honor award.

Read this to the kindergartners. We read half the book one week and I had students asking me in the hall what would happen to red bug! They loved it!
