When a lady shows mercy to Ivy, a beggar and thief, the limping and retired Dragon Master Asher is charged to keep her in line until her trial. The gruff man is quick to spank and kind at heart, but after growing up on the streets, Ivy proves difficult to tame. Old habits die hard, and her last act of thievery will change the Land of Khys forever.
I don't know where to start with this one. I really wanted to like it because of the premise, but not my cup of tea is what I felt in the end. I mean I find a little spanking titillating, but when it is basically pain for pleasure and involves whips... not so much. I really liked the MCs, Ivy and Asher, but all the whipping and spankings kinda took up too much of the story to really allow for the romance to flourish. By the end I felt like Ivy was suffering from some kinda stockholm syndrome. There are huge gaps in logic and so much about the political landscape left addressed, that it was just a mess. Most of the novel is spent trying to legitimize the reasons why it is good thing to smack your woman around and that that gets her hot, so long as you don't smack her in the face or draw blood. Like I said, not my cup of tea.
I started reading Nattie dragon master series the other day it is the third book. or second in the series. I read the prequel first. it gives you a basic of the war they had. I high recommend you read all 6. total worth the price and more. Nattie hits you soul. you can't help not fall in love with ivy and Asher. I love how she brings the charters together, so smoothly. you will love this romantic dragon stories.
The book gets your attention by starting with a robbery. The political intrigue is fascinating and is much a part of the story as the spanking and the developing relationships. This was a very dramatic read.
This is a very good book and starts off with a bang with an attempted robbery. THe young theif is question is given into custody of an old dragon master who is very gruff and spanks hard for every infraction. Good continuation of the series.
Probably my favorite of the series. Ivy is a wonderful heroine. She hides how caring she is underneath that street-rat exterior. Asher is the most lovable of the heroes.
