The Tree in the Front Yard

Rate this book
*Completely re-edited* Southern humor right down to the dialect ! This is a story for grown-ups even though the main character is only eleven years old. She will take you on the wildest ride of life in a southern town ! A southern tale of an eleven year old girl named Sissy, who learns about life and all the bad things that grown-ups do. Sissy thinks she knows so much about the real world, but discovers the real world is not always a pretty place. With a daddy that has a wondering eye and a problem with alcohol, he also can't seem to stay faithful to her mama. She sees him for how he really is and then some! Sissy spends a lot of time in her tree and observes her neighborhood and all that goes on it. She is a tomboy and proud of it. The summer she turns eleven is her most adventurous one yet! Follow Sissy as she lives vicariously through her best friend and how it really feels to be in a loving environment. Her best friends' home is very different than her own home-life and what she is accustomed to.

Not enough content

A good short story. If you want to kill an hour of time. I was disappointed there wasn't more to the book.
