This is a beautiful idea for any child or adult who wants to learn to cook but doesn't quite know where to begin. The writing itself is wonderfully easy to understand while the book includes enough resources in the back to ensure that the reader isn't scrambling to find the answer in either another cookbook or online where they may meet some confusion.
Another thing that I enjoyed about the cookbook is that the authors allow the beginning cook to read tips that they have to offer whether it is about preparing foods, safety or even on the presentation of foods. Many people don't worry anymore nowadays about how their food looks but the idea is a pretty important one, especially if you are wanting your meal to look as good, if not better than it smells.
The variety of recipes that were included was amazing yet. The recipes covered a broad range of cooking thus allowing the beginning cook to get a chance to put their finger in many pies to forgive the pun. There were dessert ideas, which seemed a bit more complicated in some senses than some of the other recipes, entrees, soups and salads so the reader isn't learning the same old, same old.
The only main problem I had was there were some spelling errors that were done in the book, not enough to be able to take away or mess you up with cooking. Fortunately the book itself in presentation will more than make up for it I believe. And there are no pictures of the foods or how to prepare them like some other teaching cookbooks have just as a heads-up for those who may be seeking an illustrated cookbook.
All in all it will be a great addition to your cookbooks if you are a collector or wanting to introduce someone to cooking otherwise.

This is a great introduction to cooking. It is well written and has step by step instructions that are easy to follow. Cooking terms are defined for those who need it. Recipes are also part of the book. It is like having someone to talk to you while you are learning instead of a list of instructions to follow without making things easily explained.
