Niqui Stanhope

Niqui wrote her first novel, Night to Remember, while she was still a senior at The University of Southern California (USC). During those years, she was highly focused on building the right academic foundation so that she might go on to work in the field of research medicine. She majored in Chemistry at USC and later went on to get a graduate degree in the field of Biomedical Sciences. Those years at University were challenging ones for her, but she was always able to relax and unwind by reading a good book.

Because a very dear relative passed away from terminal cancer, in addition to her love for the written word, she also has a firm commitment to the field of cancer research. And, today, is one of the scientists ‘working for the cure.’

Niqui has written over twelve novels so far, and has been featured in many online as well as hardcopy magazines. Most recently, her novel, She’s Gotta Have It, was featured as The Red Hot Read, in Cosmopolitan magazine.

One of her most beloved series so far is The Champagne series. Readers around the world have fallen in love with this family of gorgeous men. The books in this series include:
Made For Each Other – Book #1
Wedding Bells (Champagne Wishes novella) – Book #2
Sweet Temptation – Book #3
She’s Gotta Have It – Book #4
Sex and The Single Diva – Book #5

Niqui finally found ‘the man of her dreams’ and was married in August 2006. She and her husband now live in New Jersey, and look forward to many happy years, and many, many spicy Niqui Stanhope novels

One word to describe this book — unforgettable

Hopelessly Devoted is by far one of my favorite Harlequin Kimani Arabesque, contemporary romance novels.

I purchased it at a local Walgreens over 20 years ago and it is still on my night stand after all this time! Even to this day, I don’t allow anyone to touch it because I am afraid it will fall apart, Lol!

I love Niqui’s ability to shape vivid and complex characters in her works, so vivid they make you want to scream at the book. The character development is well paced; Rosalind Carmichael and Sam Winter are both relatable. Rosalind is strong but yet, vulnerable. Sam is charismatic but flawed; guarded. The emotional arc between Rosalind and Sam is well crafted and highly entertaining. I remember reading it so fast I was sick that it ended.

I envy the person who hasn’t read this book yet.

This read was one for the ages!

My first read of the year was this throwback Black Romance book & I devoured it in one sitting
Oh to be loved like Sam loved his Rosy.
I brought this book from Thrift books because the synopsis hooked me. Rosalind‘s brother has a big debt and nobody not even Rosalind’s fiancé can/will help her bail him out it EXCEPT the one man that Rosalind can’t stand. But it comes with some terms and conditions. Sam was looking like a big bad wolf, but he really was sweet, loving, protective, generous. The way Sam says I love you is both his attention to the details that are important to Rosy and through is actions even though Rosalind is playing oblivious. He was truly hopelessly devoted. Rosalind and Sam were both guarded in their own ways, what I loved most about their relationship’s development is seeing the beauty of the intimacy of being understood by your partner.

This book is added to my list of favorites.
