Lure and Lore of Limestone County: Alabama Antebellum Houses and Families

Rate this book
Chris Edwards and Faye Axford left no stone unturned to find the little-known historical facts of the people, places, and events that make up Limestone County, Alabama. They found rare photographs, forgotten plantation cemeteries, abandoned ante-bellum mansions, and the people who remembered, to produce this outstanding reference and interesting collection of Limestone County's priceless past. Interwoven stories, fables, and recollections lost to the soft black of the past have been carefully recorded, along with the genealogy of these pioneers and squires, and their final resting places. The towns of Greenbrier, Athens, Mooresville, Belle Mina, Tanner, Brown's Ferry, French's Mill, and other communities, as well as towns that are long gone, have been preserved for historians and everyone who loves a well-told story.
