Detectives turning into werewolves. Werewolves moonlighting as detectives. What's happening to our crime fiction PIs?
What's happening is a mash-up between two big characters in my universe of crime fiction: Vincent Zandri's Dick Moonlight and Paul D. Brazill's Roman Dalton. They meet up in Full Moonlight, a short story of paranormal mystery set at a cemetery.
On dead, cold, dark winter nights like these, it made for a fun read. Nothing to be taken too seriously, but then again we're talking about werewolves here. The caper involves mutilated bodies, corpses coming back to life, prophetic dreams and plenty of zany Zandri zingers. There's also a scene involving a dog walker and a horny werewolf, if that's any indication of the mood.
Very entertaining short story. Once again, I must thank Vincent Zandri for an entertaining story that I enjoyed as I waited for an appointment. While I haven’t previously read or listened to any of his Dick Moonlight stories after listening to Full Moonlight, I will be correcting that deficit. There is something about reading/listening to a story that has elements of horror and mystery centered around a Private Eye who isn’t your typical character and who has an attitude that makes the story come alive. I listened to the audiobook of Full Moonlight narrated by virtual voice – while it isn’t a human narrator, I can imagine a time when it gets to the point of being indistinguishable from live narrators.
Full Moonlight (Richard "Dick" Moonlight #4), my sixth read from author Vincent Zandri. I've been getting books by this author since 2012 & never getting around to reading one until now. Since I own both the Kindle & Audible editions of this book I was able to follow along while reading it and since I own a total of 20 books by him I look forward to reading more! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Full Moonlight (Richard “Dick” Moonlight #4) was another great read by Vincent Zandri. Moonlight has a bullet lodged inside his brain which could kill him at any time. He is hired to look into some strange animal mutilations that at in the Albany Rural Cemetary. I enjoyed reading this book.
I have just discovered Dick Moonlight - and now I have to read more.
This short story tells of Moonlight investigating strange goings-on at the local cemetery. Mutilations are becoming frequent and he is sent to find out just what is going on.
A brilliant character and the surprise appearance near the end of another beloved detective really made this story.
