Family Life Principles and Practices for Effective Outreach is an excellent book for helping students and field professionals develop the knowledge and skills needed to take family science principles to citizens via family life education programs. Authors Stephen F. Duncan and H. Wallace Goddard incorporate leading outreach scholarship with years of professional experience to provide a scholarly, yet practical, guide for current and future family life outreach professionals.
As textbooks go this is an "easy read" not heavy on the jargon of academics. Cons: It is a little repetitive at times and could be shortened if it was removed. Pros: several usual links to resources, best chapter is chapter 8, the concepts of savoring and gratitude are powerful.
