The writing is a bit odd, and flavored by the times in which it is written. But this is an important work. Most of early New England weather history is lost -- except for much of what is written here.
An odd book. Thanks to the author for compiling such a sweep of information, almost in a curio-like fashion. Though the organization is straightforward --a sequence of momentus events-- the internal organization of each chapter wanders from anecdote to anecdote. The best thing for me are the pithy sentences of real experiences culled from newspaper articles and eyewitness accounts.
