Atoms are the smallest part of an element that you can’t divide any longer. For example, if you take table, you keep dividing it until you get the smallest piece that you can. A molecule is when two atoms get together and they are they are from the same element. From example, when the oxygen that we breath get with another oxygen it makes a molecule called O2. An atom has a proton and neutron in the nucleus and it’s surrounded by electrons and you can’t see an atom with the naked eye, you need specific microscopes. The water molecule is made of 2 hydrogens and 1 oxygen, they are joined together by a chemical bonding. You count the number of protons by looking at the atomic number in the periodic table. The number of protons is equal to the number of electrons. You would know the number of electrons in the atom by just looking at the number of protons. Materials like matter has a lot of materials in it for example, matter is made of compounds that join together like CO2. This compound had 1 carbon and 2 oxygen. CO2 is a compound emitted by cars.

This book was really interesting because it's important to know what earth is made of. This book was also interesting because people can learn things that are really impressive and unimaginable. My opinion of why the author made this book is to explain atoms and molecules. The most interesting part of the book when the author described the size of an atom.

I would recommend this book to the people who love science. My favorite part of the book the book was when the author showed how to measure an atom and a molecule. My least favorite part was when the author added too much details about molecules.

Chemistry is a branch of physical science that studies the composition, structure, properties and change of matter. Chemistry is chiefly concerned with atoms and molecules and their interactions and transformations. There are several postulates in this book like :
1. A mole represents 6.022 x 10²³ particles.
.
2. Mole is the chemist's counting unit.

3. Proton is a positively charged particles found in the atoms of all elements.
