A snapshot of its time, the Cold War's last hot danger moment 1983. Indeed, unknowingly at the time I found and bought it right around the time of the Able Archer crisis. That was aged 15 too. It was a proper file. In glossily illustrated colour that worked well for the serious purpose of readability, it set out all the geopolitical and technological details, that the era's fashionable CND believers were naive to try to brush aside.
Now an instructive needed history perspective very relevant to present day fear of slipping back into that type of power standoff between Europe and an aggressive Russia.
