I’m the daughter of a semi-retired Methodist minister, and have spent most of my life living in Texas and New Mexico (no, I am not a native Texan; I was born in the state of Washington). I graduated from West Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in 2000. I taught school for a couple of years before realizing that I really wanted to spend my time writing.

I’m a daughter, mother, wife, sister, granddaughter. Currently, I live in North Texas with my husband, and my son has gone off to college. I have a wicked sense of humor and find almost anything funny.

That’s about it. If there is something else you want to know, ask me!

I have already read these books on my other ereader but I didnt' review back then. I wanted to reread so here we are. I enjoy the whole series but fell in love with characters more and more as I read. The early books re extended novellas but the last two are full length novels. Hooked on this series.

The second book in this series was just as good as the first one. My only complaint is that it read to quickly and not enough Babe! I adore the idea behind this story though and can't wait to see where the characters are lead next.

As much as I loved Death of a Cantankerous Old Coot, I am happy to report that Ms. Watson came back and hit us with just as much goodness with the second installment of the Lizzie Crenshaw Mystery series.

Death Makes the Front Page has everything I loved about the first book, plenty of action, a bit of spice, loads of snark and of course, our lovable Lizzie is always getting herself into one predicament or another.

Lizzie is now working full time at the newspaper, only, there is something going on with her boss. When she witnesses an assault, she is off and running on another adventure full of twists and turns. She learned that our favorite (or grumpy...depending on how you look at it) newspaper editor is sitting on a goldmine of dirty little secrets. Unfortunately, uncovering the secrets could get Lizzie killed.

It's difficult to write a comprehensive review of these books, mostly because I don't want to give away too much for anyone who is new to the world of Lizzie Crenshaw series. But trust me, this book is so much fun.

Watson certainly knows how to craft a page turner. Everytime I pick up a Lizzie novella, I turn the last page wishing for the next installment. There is something about Lizzie and all of Brookdale that just made me fall in love.

The town is full of characters and the never ending splash of local cover actually adds to the success of these books.

Disclaimer: I was gifted a copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

I bought these books for two reasons - 1. There is a bloodhound on the cover and 2. the price. I appreciate that these are 'lendable' through Nook.

While these books are really just a long chapter - they are very well written. You get a good idea of the main character (Lizzie). I wish Belle was featured more. They are good, quick, reads that only leave you for more glimpses of the bloodhound.

This was an enjoyable and entertaining read, well written with realistic characters.

There was something rather eccentric about it which, for me, made it an entertaining read - if a murder mystery can be called such.

I don't give spoilers but will say that for those that like a different kind of style of crime, this is for you.
