Kindaichi once spent the summer at a mansion with a group of kids. Something mysterious happened but Kindaichi hurt his leg and got a fever so he was sent home before he could solve any crimes. (Although he did meet some friends by clearing one of suspicion of theft.) Six years later he and Miyuki return there for another non-anime adventure!
While this is not one of the officially translated Kindaichi light novels, it’s easy enough—for diehard Hajime fans, I guess—to find the ebook version and beat it up with an AI translator. No offense to our future robot overlords, but the translation wasn’t pretty. Interchangeable pronouns, characters referring to themselves in the third person, many nicknames, and other quirks made it a more challenging read than other AI translations I’ve read before.
If you’re interested you might as well track down the official translations. Maybe someday we’ll get a good one of this volume because the story isn’t bad.
