born Theodore Keyser, he was an American cartoonist and writer, best known as the creator of the cartoon panel Hazel, which was later the basis for a television series of the same name.
I'm not sure I've read this exact Hazel book, but it was the only one I found. Ted Key was a talented cartoonist, and Hazel, of course, was his masterpiece. Many of the cartoons don't even have a caption--the picture by itself is plenty. Hazel always finds time to participate in the kids' activities, and sometimes she works them into her duties. I always liked the cartoons. Somehow the early tv show didn't have quite so much charm.
