Once upon a time there was a wizard called Aquarius who lived in a castle with his parents, who were also wizards. Each night after supper, he would go up to the roof of the castle, transform himself into a bird, and fly across the countryside, helping animals, children, and anyone else who might be in trouble. In these eight interlinking stories, magic is intrinsically tied to nature, friendships are told through a magical culture of animals and humans, and the reader is gently teased and advised throughout into becoming a resilient, and emotionally resourceful adventurer.
These enchanting stories remind me so much of the magical and timeless fairy tales of my childhood. There were so many lessons to be learned about self-control and mindfulness, yet you’d never guess it by the whimsical tone. We listened to it on Audible and absolutely loved it. The entrancing voice of the narrator sweeps you into a world of wizardry and castles, and it is sure to spark the most remarkable dreams when played at bedtime for children of most any age.

This is a very easy book to follow and the pacing is good so I was never bored.” Girl, aged 12 “Bird magic is best! I loved this book. I liked how every story was a bit different but they were sort of linked too. This book is not scary in any way, it’s just magical! The author is fab at describing stuff too. I think most 8 – 12 year olds would like this book.” Girl, reader, aged 12 “Featherwings is the best part at the end. I liked how there was so much animal/bird magic in the story. I thought that was original. I think any 11 year old would enjoy reading this at bedtime, just a chapter, as it’s not a frightening book, but it’s very sweet. I don’t think anybody could dislike Aquarius.” Boy, aged 12
