wow, my attempt to read my grandma's book was kind of a failure. i think i read a combined total of 25 pages while skimming through it. the problem was that my crazy old grandma, who wrote this book at the advanced age of 82, clearly doesn't know how to tell a story linearly, and it jumps all over the place. she obviously did her research though; i remember her working on it for years and years. here's a summary of her argument. (1) oliver cromwell was the coolest guy EVER. (2) oliver wrote england's one and only written constitution, which charles II burned when he got back on the throne, but nobody ever mentions it because it's so shameful. grandma is super pissed about this. (3) oliver's son richard was kicked outta england, came to the good ol' U.S. of A. and sired my forebears.

so that wasn't the best summary ever, but if you're at all interested you should go to this website: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com... it has a pretty decent summary of the book and a blurb about grandma jane at the bottom of the page. it also has the lineage from oliver all the way down to my dad (thomas ross hammer). unfortunately they didn't complete the lineage, but next in the line is yours truly.

anyway, not the most exciting book ever. however, because grandma (and oliver/richard cromwell) are my fam, i've gotta give it 5 stars. represent.
