You’ve written a wonderful book. But you know that it won’t sell itself. You need to let folks know just how good your book is, why they should care about it, and why they must choose your book over millions of others.
This is a step-by-step, short, pragmatic guide on how to establish yourself as an expert and a leader on one of the largest social networks—LinkedIn.
The book I read to research this post was How to Use Linkedin to Sell More Books which is quite a good book which I bought on kindle. Actually I think this book was a free download. This book focuses on a very narrow field namely selling books on Linkedin and there is very little telling you how to actually use the site. If you want to learn how to use the site I recommend Linkedin For Dummies. This book which is very short just tells you how to make new contacts on the site. Mostly via contacting someone who knows the person or joining a group the person is a member of. There is also a little on how to do searches in Linkedin via the search box at the bottom of the page. There is a little on marketing books and e-books in general. If you are lucky enough to get a publishing contract publishing houses in general do little or no marketing especially for new up and coming authors. I think this is more of an inspiration piece for budding authors than a how to manual. I'd recommend this if it is free but I think even if it is for sale for 99 p there are better books available for the same money. The authors haven't put much effort into it. I also think there are too many books available on selling e-books & I have read lots and found little new here.
This book is a goldmine of ideas on how to better position your book on a social media platform,(LinkedIn.) As an Indie author, marketing budgets can be limited so any free publicity and marketing is a plus. This book focuses more on a long term success plan to promote and market your work. But as an author, the term author is a career so you should be in this for the long haul. I definitely recommend this if you are not using LinkedIn or not using it to it's fullest potential.
This book will teach you to get the most value from your linked in profile. I enjoyed how easy the authors made it find the sections to update your profile. The screen capture graphics make it clear. I have been using linked in for a few years and I got quite a bit from this book.
Short, succinct guide to using LinkedIn as an author platform. Nothing really earth-shattering here but more of a helpful collection of tips. Grateful for the help I received from it.
