Noah and the Mighty Ark is a delightful book set in rhyme for young children aged 4 to 8. It is filled with bright colourful pictures that beautifully complement the story. Even the endpapers are filled with monochrome pictures of the animals marching two by two towards the ark at one end of the book, an away from the ark at the other.

Children will have fun with their parents counting the animals and naming them. There are animals from many different continents to be found in this book. This book can be a great catalyst for a variety of discussion and learning opportunities.

The story is told in rhyming couplets, showing emphasis on words using italics, boldface type and changes in font size. The story is simply written so that children beginning to read will find success with this book. However the author also provides some challenges for language development such as learning more difficult words like “disembark” and “pitch” (to make it float).

A verse from the Bible (Genesis 6:14-19) is quoted at the beginning of the book which the story is based on. The story is accurately told in a way that will engage the young reader and help them understand the overall concepts of the Biblical event.

The paper is a reasonably heavy weight with a slightly glossy finish. The book is hardcover so that it is durable for young children.

I would highly recommend Noah and the Mighty Ark to any family with young children. I would be a great addition to any library. I gave this book 5 stars out of 5.

Noah and the Mighty Ark is a children's book that can be suitable for the youngest of ages, provided the story is read to them, all the way up to children of 8 years of age. The story has been taken from a well known Bible event from the time of Noah. It has been written in a way which young readers can understand the overall message of it. It tells how Noah was chosen by God to build an ark, collect animals, and for his family to be the ones that re-populate the earth.

From the cover of the book, throughout all the pages within it, and to the very end the illustrations are presented with a soft edge and lots of color depicting each part of the story. The illustrations provide a nice complimentary view to the story's dialogue and narration. The author has done a remarkable job of bringing a Bible event to life for the young readers of our world.

I highly recommend this book as a conversation starter for children ages 4-8. There is not great detail on the scriptural reasons behind the ark, the flood, why Noah was chosen, and how sets of different species was chosen.

I never get tired of the story of Noah and the building of the ark. It is such an important lesson that we need to teach our children from a very early age. They need to know about God's provision and His promises even in the storms of life.

Rhonda Greene and Margaret Spengler have combined their talents to once again bring this account to life. You are sure to enjoy Rhonda's rhyming verse that explains in detail what took place all those years ago. Margaret's illustrations are bright and colorful and the characters have such sweet facial expressions.

I appreciated how even the simplest of details about the story were covered. There are details such as the ark being covered in pitch and God Himself shutting the door, that will be important to your children in understanding some of the deeper meanings as they grow older. I can't express how much I love that these things were included and not glossed over. I feel like it is better to teach the story in the correct way from the beginning rather than having to unlearn some things later in life. This is a book that you can trust on the details even though it is a child's storybook.

I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

Suitable for young readers, Noah and the Mighty Ark is a delightful Bible story penned in rhyme. Adding to children’s learning experiences; the author includes challenging vocabulary words. For example - And creatures in that mighty ark all lined up to disembark.

A Genesis quote from God to Noah begins the book. “Make yourself an ark out of cypress wood . . . bring two of every living thing into the ark.” What an impressive approach to describe the wood of the ark.

Greene continues to introduce new terms. Here she explains the construction of the ark - He built a boat lined with pitch so it would float.

Children will learn the value of hard work by following Noah’s family working together to achieve their goal. For example, His sons brought water, seed, and hay. They filled the ark by night and day.

Greene included the famous mountain’s name in this manner – And Ararat, a mountain steep, became a perch from waters deep.

Noah and the Mighty Ark may become a favorite choice for toddlers through the age of six.

The accurate illustrations created a blurred style, which I found unnecessary.

A well known Biblical story written with rhyme and rhythm is sure to delight a young child. My 4 and 6 year old grandsons listened quite easily to the story line being read to them and followed along, pointing to all the animals. Very engaging for children to see so many different types of animals enter the ark, live on the boat and then exit to safety with a beautiful rainbow of God's promise at the end. I thought the change of color in the text, from black to white was clever and easy on the eyes but as an adult, the blurry illustrated images are a bit disappointing for me but not for the children. This is a great addition for home and church library.

Cassandra's Review- A basic very quick book for children. The story of one that has been told and retold except it as a rhyme story line. Great for really young kids and children new to their faith. Cute for home schools as well. There is not a lot more to add to this review as the book was very simple.

This was the basic story of Noah's Ark told in a simple rhyme.

God said, "I will find one good man, strong and kind."
He found Noah, said to him, "Build an ark and rooms within."
Then God said, "When you're through, bring the creatures two by two."
