Fascinating: McGoohan wasn’t engaged in reprising his grand success, he was far more interested in applying the ideas and concerns to the then modern day. The question of what happens after a rebellion is fascinating and the conflicts are played out beautifully in a Village that’s changed but still perhaps the same. Some elements do feel that they need another draft or two to be fully convincing though.
Langley’s supporting material is a touch repetitive and focuses on similarities to the series rather than changes, but then the point of The Prisoner was thinking for yourself and this screenplay certainly prompts that.
