So I purchased this book on our mother/daughter trip to Charleston, SC. On a late foggy night we stumbled into Buxton Books about 10 minutes til close. A friendly gentlemen then invited us to tag along on the Ghost Tour they were preparing to leave for. Long story short, that gentlemen was the owner/author and I purchased this book with his signature! Having been on the tour that following night and then reading this easy to read book post tour, I can without a doubt say that it’s phenomenal.

Much research and time went into this book. From historical facts to first hand accounts. Whether you believe in spirits or life after here, it is a fun, easy to read book that will teach you a little more about the South Carolina past time.

Great information on the history of some of Charleston’s most talked about paranormal activity! I am interested in ghosts and have my own stories, but knowing who they are and why they might be there is so fascinating!

I’m extremely interested in ghost stories and live in Charleston. But this book was painfully hard to finish as it’s very boring. There are so many better books on Charleston ghost.

Charleston is a city very near and dear to my heart. It’s very special to me. Ghost stories are also an intrigue to me, I am a skeptic but hearing stories of new buildings that were once old buildings and used for different purposes and where stories are said to have come from and who’s famous for what is always something that makes me think about how the times were. Though, some stories were completely outrageous like Fire Station 8 and I started to lose interest in a lot of the stories so I will say my engagement was super low at times.

I got this book after going on the ghost tour in Charleston. It was interesting to learn about the history of the area and fun to relate some of the stories to what I saw on the ghost tour. I wish each account went a little more in depth combining the history and the experiences because many of the stories seemed to be either one or the other.

Superb! These aren’t ghost stories. These are accounts of spirits in the earthly world. The author provides the historical context and identifies the spirits and why they are present at a particular locale.

As a former Charlestonian and guest at one of Buxton Books’ ghost tours, I felt like I had to read this, particularly near Halloween. Of course, I had already heard several of these stories before. It is a good telling of several ghost stories. Ghosts seem to love Charleston.

GHOSTS AND GHOULS!!!! So fun and very informative! Loved learning about the history along with the stories of the ghosts and their interactions!!! I wish I had some cool ghost experience. :(

What a fun book to read if you visit Charleston. Next time I go I will know the haunted places and will definitely be looking for these spirits because I truly believe they exist. I even know someone who had one of the ghost for a teacher many years ago.
