January 10, 2014When Michele contacted me to review the second title in the SNAP series I was thrilled! Unfortunately I put off reading it for ages and finally got around to it late last year (2013). I loved the first book in the series, meeting the talented Maxie and her co-workers. Going along with her on her journey into the world of the Kandeskys, the vampire world and the feud with the Huszars.
In the second book we get a bit more detail on the feud, who is who and how things have progressed through the centuries. We delve into Jean-Louis past a bit and see how his relationship with Maxie develops. He tries his best to keep Maxie safe, despite her stubbornness and little adventures. Maxie does manage to get herself into some trouble, but thankfully Jean-Louis and his “family” are there to keep her from getting hurt or worse – killed.
I enjoyed this just as much as the first book in the series. See my review HERE. Michele has a great way with words that sucks you into the story and keeps you hooked right to the end. I’m looking forward to reading the next book PLAUGE: A Love Story – which is Stefan’s story.
Would I recommend this book? Yes! If you love vampires then this series is something you should check out. It’s a quick read with great characters. Would I read more by this author? Most definitely! Michele is great and has been very patient with me and my crazy schedule. She is a very talented writer, and I’m looking forward to reading more by her in the future.

Reader: I loved it! Michele Drier has done it again: She’s got a winner on her hands with SNAP: New Talent, the second SNAP book in the Kandesky vampire series. Judging by the way New Talent ends, there will be a third installment, and I can’t wait! I don’t even like the whole vampire thing, particularly, but I like Drier’s fast-paced, multi-layered and emotionally satisfying treatment of this centuries-old vampire family.
As in the first book of this series, Maxie Gwenoch, the savvy editor of an international gossip magazine, called, naturally, SNAP, finds herself caught between two worlds that each exert a compelling pull on her life and her emotions, due in no small part to her romantic liaison with a glimmeringly sexy adult vampire, John-Louis Kandesky—yes, of those Kandeskys!
I liked this second installment even more than the first because Drier seems to have hit her stride with excellent pacing, more nuanced concepts of similarity and difference between human and vampire and really fascinating world building that makes logical sense against a most creatively realized vampire history. The characters are smart and sophisticated and the plot stays thick to the last sentence, where it positively startles, alarms and deliciously beckons with a temptation one cannot resist. Bring on that third book, because this five-star installment has left me breathless with anticipation.

In SNAP: A NEW TALENT we meet Maxie Gwenoch, an editor at a top selling celebrity gossip magazine that is owned by a vampire family known as The Kandesky’s. Jealous of the Klandesky fame and fortune, a rival vampire clan the Haszar’s try to kidnap Maxie. Jean-Louis Maxie’s vampire boyfriend tries to teach her to manipulate her mind into hearing his thoughts. He also teaches her to hide her thoughts from the enemy clan so they are unable to use her knowledge to steal Snap. In this book you will read about vampires, demon bodyguards and shape-shifters. The end of this book left me wanting more, and I was glad to know there is a book to follow. This book was received for the purpose of an honest review.

I really loved the 1st SNAP book in this series, so, it really bothers me that I felt I had to give this review. I had hard time with this second book. There were a few grammatical errors and some typos but I could overlook those. I couldn't emotionally get into the characters like I did in the 1st book. I felt like the book was rushed and that it didn't have any really character tension. The storyline was interesting but I really struggled getting through this book. I am sorry!

More action, and laughs, but still a lot of editing issues. Max is more entrenched in the Kandesky world, & especially with Jean Louis, in this book. A little annoyed with how many times the company is explained. I like the characters. This book continues with the problems the Kandesky's have with the Huszar's. Great/shocking ending. Makes you think "Oh No!" for Max & Jean Louis.

I loved this entire series! I liked how well the characters were developed and how the story line grabbed me from the beginning. I couldn't wait to start the next book! Michelle does a great job grabbing your attention and keeping it from beginning to end!

Fantastic and gripping story, an excellent follow up from book one SNAP: the world unfolds! And after reading the prologue to the third instalment I already can't wait to see how the story unfolds!
