I want to thank the author for providing me a copy of her book in exchange for an honest review.

Nearly a year ago I was given the opportunity to read the first book in this series and fell totally for it. Glistening Haven was and still is a story that doesn’t have anything to match it. This book continues that story, and once again I was blown away by the writing, the story and the characters.

This is not a book you can pick up without reading the first one. There are so many different series and trilogy’s out there right now, but this is a story that can’t be put into just one book. All your favorite characters are back. Jenna has found love but is also dealing with uncertainty in a life changing way and finds herself exactly like those she had once been trying hard not be like. Jake is trying to make things better for the glistening but another glistening keeps undermining him and making changes that makes the good things go bad.

This world of humans and glistenings is that of turmoil, heartache, heartbreak, love, hope and disaster. As you feel a door opening, something comes along and slams it shut. The story is fast paced and will keep you glued to your seat. You will burn your dinner, and that’s if you remember to eat at all. By the end of the book everything has been turned on end. The rebellion has succeeded in some ways and faltered in others. This book will not leave you disappointed. I look forward to what the 3rd brings.

Follow Jenna Morgan, along with some of your other favorite characters from Glistening Haven, in this second book by the talented Jill Cooper. I love dystopian books and this one DID NOT disappoint me! When Jenna goes on her final job before retirement you know things won't go smoothly. With every turn of the page I buried myself deeper into their world. I found myself rooting for glistenings in one moment and against them in the next. What a roller coaster ride! Cooper did an excellent job keeping the story flowing from the first book into the second, keeping true to who the characters are. I highly recommend this book to everyone and can't wait to see what's in store next!

I wish I could give this 10 stars. There is so much action it makes your head spin.....in a good way. Jenna truly comes into her own as a kick ass warrior chick. Jake shows his true colors along with his dad, Jeff. All the characters I loved from Glistening Haven were even more fantastic. They fight new foes and a few old ones. Evolution is proving more than either side can handle and tons of bad choices were made. With all it's awesome twists and a killer cliff hanger....this book is one of my favorites I've read in awhile. In the end I wanted punch Jameson in the face. Read the book and find out why.

Disclosure: the author gave me an ARC copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. The book rocks. You can't go wrong with dragons :)

I had not read the first book, Glistening Haven, before reading this one. However, Glistening Rebellion starts off with a little bit of history which made it possible for me to enjoy this book on its own. Jenna Morgan is exactly the type of character I enjoy reading about. She is a strong, independent woman who is capable of taking care of herself but at the same time, she isn’t perfect and has weaknesses just like everyone else. Glistening Rebellion is a wonderful, action-packed story that still manages to keep its humanity and make the characters totally believable.

First off, if you haven't read Glistening Haven, be sure you do. Glistening Rebellion is the second book, and while it gives some small amount of back story, I think it is necessary to read Glistening Haven to get the full story. It is worth the read, as is this second book.

Glistening Rebellion picks up a bit into the previous characters' lives. It is just as equally fast paced and exciting as the first book. I love the way the book shifts through so many characters and gives readers a glimpse into all their views. This book is a dystopian, sci-fi, and I would say suspense. I was reading through trying to pinpoint what would happen next, who was causing what, and who was lying for their own gain.

As far as characters go, there is a glimpse into most of the characters from the first book. Most of the book switches between following Jenna or Jake as they continue to find out who they really are and what the world around them is really like. I liked getting a further look at Dirk and his thoughts.

I was left with several moral debates in this book. Are the glistenings the monsters? They turn into fire breathing dragons who can slaughter a country during one blood lust. Many of them, most of them really, just seek a peaceful life of freedom. Or is it the humans, who trap and experiment on the glistening like they are no better than animals? It's a question to answer, and it's pretty circumstantial most of the time.

I think Jill Cooper has an amazing imagination and story-telling ability. I get drawn easily into the world filled with glistenings, and I am stuck there. Even when I wasn't reading, I found myself considering what could happen next, and who would do what on either side. I can't wait for the next book. I really want to know what is going to happen next.

I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

This is the second book in the series, the first being Glistening Haven. I read Glistening Haven and was hooked and so when I moved on to Glistening Rebellion for this tour, I fell even more for the characters that I had already known. Glistening Haven was a great book all in itself and so with this being said, Glistening Rebellion is right there with it. It doesn’t top it but it matches the intensity that I felt when reading it. This book moves right along with the story and I was blown away by the author’s use of words in her writing and the storyline with such amazing characters.

I would not recommend that you start to read Glistening Rebellion without first reading Glistening Haven. Jenna has now found love and is dealing with some life issues with everything changing as she knows it. She is slowly becoming someone that she one used to not want to be. Jake is the one that is pushing to try to make everything better for the glistening but another keeps cutting him short and making all the good that he has tried so hard to accomplish go sour. This book will have your feelings all tangled up in knots. You won’t know what exactly is going to happen next but you are always rooting that it will be for the better! This book was everything I wanted to devour in a second installment and I can not wait for the third.

Disclosure: I was given a copy of the novel for my open and honest opinion through Promotional Book Tours. All thoughts are my own.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am not required to give a positive review.
First, this is the second book in a series, and you really need to read the first book to understand any of the world or story-line. However, if you do go back and read the first book, it is a worthwhile, enjoyable read. The world and story behind it are somewhat realistic, given how centered our society is around how people look. That's the whole premise for the difference between Glistenings and humans.
I know a book is good when, days after I've put it down, I catch myself thinking as if I was in the world. That's what happened with this book, when my co-workers and I were talking about "enhancements" to our bodies, and all I could think of was, "Nope, not going to be a Glistening....I want to be all natural"
The characters were well-written with realistic development for each of the main characters. I don't like how some main characters have these absolutely amazing traits that are unrealistic. I didn't read this here at all with these characters. They were all poignant and emotionally compelling. I certainly couldn't pick a side between them, and could understand each side's drive and ambitions.
The ending was heart-breaking, and infuriating, all at the same time. I can't wait to see how this series ends. I really hope Jenna kicks some more butt.

The Glistenings have escaped Who-ville and they are in hinding, waiting for the command from Jake their friendly leader. There is a lot going on, with Wendy believed to be dead and Jenna fighting for her life we have Victor behind the scenes doing who knows what. While Jake is trying to hold it all together to bring peace and harmony between the humans and Glistenings, laying it all on the line.

In this book you become more familiar with Jenna and Dirk. In the first book Jenna rubbed me the wrong way, she was hard and you just wanted to slap her but this one starts to show her soft side. You grow to love her toughness and appreciate it and understand why she's so rough. She fights for survival and as a huge secret gets out of the bag, she fights even harder. I loved her fight for life. Jake is still just as calm and genuine as ever he just wants Glistenings and humans to get along, why can't we all just get along?

Can Jake bring them together or will they destroy each other? This is an awesome action packed thrill ride that leaves you wanting more. I sooo can't wait to read the next one... oh wait I'm reading it back to back no waiting... yes

This book picked up where 'Glistening Haven' left off.Once again we are sucked in to the world of humans and Glistenings, who are non human. They do not have the same rights and people are convinced to be scared of them. They are segregated into 'Haven's,Pods set up like 1950's neighborhoods.Jenna,is a cop.She is 1/2 glistening but her co workers don't know. She and her cop husband are raising a half breed child, and expecting another. The New Haven directors and the government will do anything to find a cure or eliminate the Glistening...even 1/2 breeds. It was exciting and I really HOPE there is a Book 3!
The narrstor,Wendy Pitts read this book as she did the first book. Her main characters ,Jenna,Jake and Dirk are fine.I find her other performances lacking in emotion, there are always pieces she races thru and her volume changes with different characters.I will keep listening to her performances and hope they get better.
FYI I was NOT gifted this book,as I was the first 1.I bought it because I liked the first one so much! :)

Oh, Jenna! Just when you think you can't be surprised anymore by a character, you feel like you know them, like you can anticipate them, bam! they turn out to be bigger bad asses than you first realized.
Jenna Morgan is in a mess and all she wanted to do was quit the biz.

I really felt like I was thrust into Jenna's point of view and the action was breathtaking. There was this one part where... oh yeah, no, I'm so NOT going to ruin it for you.

I will say though that when the escaped glistenings attacked I skipped dinner. DINNER. I don't miss meals, and this was right up my alley for a diet.

In true Cooper style the ending left me wanting more and more than a little antsy to read the Glistening world again. I returned to book #1 just because! I love this series and can't wait for book #3. I think it'd be neat to see something with a cure or something for the Glistenings...

I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads

I really wanted to like this book a lot, it sounded like it would be an amazing book but I had to force myself to read it. When I have to force myself to read something I usually end up not liking it and being annoyed with it. Saying that does not mean I am saying it was so terrible that you shouldn't give it a try and read it but it just wasn't for me. It's more than likely my own fault because I would get lost with characters and at times forget who was who and so forth probably because I didn't know the whole story before hand. I had won this and don't own the first book so I thought maybe I could just read the second. I probably would have liked it a lot more than I did if I had actually read the first one. I am in no way trying to come off as some sort of book snob, this is just a book that wasn't up to my taste because I didn't own the first one sadly and didn't know the whole story.

I absolutely books in this genre and Jill does an awesome job again with Glistening Rebellion. I highly recommend reading Glistening Haven first - you will not be able to put either book down so they are "quick" reads because there is never a dull moment. If you don't, there is some background information provided so you are not lost. I put aside another series I was reading to read these books and read them straight through. Usually I bounce back and forth between books. Not this time! I do not want to give away what a Glistening is but just know that they are a suppressed group that decides to fight against the powers that are suppressing them. Sound familiar? All characters are even more developed in book 2 and in the end - I WANT MORE....

Let me start with -- you really need to read GLISTENING HAVEN before you read Glistening Rebellion. So much will be explained to you in the first book of the series, and things in the second book will make more sense.

This book starts where 'Glistening Haven' left off. Once again, we are sucked into the world of humans and Glistenings - who are non human. Glistenings are segregated into Haven's; Jenna is a cop and she is half glistening but her co-workers don't know that. Jenna and her husband are raising a half breed child and she is expecting another. I don't write spoilers - so I can't say much more other than once you start reading this series, you will find it hard to put the books down!!!

In this book, we pick up one year after book 1. Jenna and Dirk have reconciled their differences and are raising Jake and Wendy's baby. Jake is in hiding with the other glistenings from Haven 56 in Saskatchewan. However, trouble is brewing once more; few have the mindset of equality that Jake is picturing. Forces on both sides are seeking glistening eradication and glistening tyranny. Our heros are fighting for their lives as secrets are revealed and plans are set in motion that may be impossible to come back from.
The author has created a post-apocalyptic story that leaves you wanting more.
