Just three twenty-minute workout sessions a week (only one hour a week!) will help anyone become a better golfer with a healthier, stronger body.
I am a current mini-tour pro with a long strength training background. I'm already quite familiar with how the body needs to function for a biomechanically sound golf swing. The goal of reading this book was, for me, to learn how Joey systematically approaches a maintenance routine for his tour players like Brooks and Dustin. Granted, I believe this book may have been before Joey obtained quite as strong of a player stable as he now holds - his big name guys are nowhere to be found in the pages.
I got exactly what I hoped for out of the book in the form of Joey's 6-point assessment, his prescriptive exercises, and several options for splitting up his "Joey D Dozen" essential movements. This is very helpfully laid out for anyone who has no idea how to program workouts. At the same time, I found it sufficiently laid out to incorporate into my existing training structure.
This is exactly what I needed. I told my wife that I was either going to get better at golf..... Or quit. So instead of getting new clubs and more toys I'm starting from the ground up. At 69 I don't expect miracles, just improvements. I'm really looking forward to spring!!
