When a young boy spies the ad for Sea Monkeys on the back of an old comic book in 1969, he just has to have them. He works to earn the dollar to buy them, and borrows a quarter from his eccentric grandfather, who at 82 still orders gag novelties from the backs of magazines. The boy has big plans for the Sea Monkeys, believing them to be larger than life until his older brother's actions puts an end to it all. A funny look at life in Appalachia in the late sixties. A work of fiction sure to make you remember, to laugh, and to appreciate those years. Now order up a pair of X-ray specs, and enjoy the ride.
I do, always wanted to order some. Finally did as a young teenager. I was thrilled to receive them in the mail. I think this has got to be a dream of every kid!! Ahhh...the memories. Thanks Ronald Ray Jenkins!
