This Goodreads First Reads is a very cute story for children age 1-8. It is a quick, easy read that has lovely illustrations on just about every other page. The major criticism I have is that there are a lot of punctuation issues throughout the story. Many of the conversational portions of the story are missing commas, spaced awkwardly, or missing quotation marks. It can also be difficult on a couple of the pages to determine who is speaking on first read due to how the story is laid out on each page. For example, page 8 would look better if edited as such:

"Thank you Aunt Velma! I do not want the prince to kiss me on the cheeks. I do not want the prince to turn back into a frog," says Princess Yazzie. (Thank you! Aunt Velma, ...could also work depending on how the text is actually supposed to be conveyed.)

Instead of:

"Thank you! Aunt Velma"

I do not want the prince to kiss me on the cheeks

I do not want the prince to turn back into a frog." Says Princess Yazzie.

I do look forward to reading this story multiple times with my 14 month old daughter as a way to help her learn new words and eventually to help teach her to read. Happy writing and reading!
