A Post-Panda & Post-Penguin SEO Guide
"Learn the Real Mechanics behind Search Engine Optimization"
"*** Now Available in Spanish - ISBN: 1482665166 ***"
The field of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has evolved dramatically in the past couple of years. If you're brand new to the SEO Industry, and you haven't had much experience with it in the past, you have to be aware of what's occurred. And when you're shopping for a guide to help you better understand SEO, and learn the real methods & techniques for how to rank your Website today on Google, it had better be a very recent guide.
Why is that? Well, the industry has changed and evolved so much because of the recent changes that Google has introduced into its algorithms. These changes have dramatically affected rankings and how Google ranks listings on its Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).
Today, if you using an outdated guide for SEO, you could not only see yourself lose in rankings on Google's SERPs, you could end up in the Google Sandbox. If you've tried SEO, and you've been frustrated because you're not making advances on Google's rankings, you need to be aware of all this information.
Here are the changes Google Instituted to its Algorithm...
Google Panda
Google released the Google Panda in February of 2011, and has sent out dozens of these modified "Panda Attacks" to kill off listings that have offered low quality content that did not abide by Google's Webmaster Guidelines. This created a dramatic shift in SERPs.
Google Penguin
In April of 2012 the search engine giant released the Google Penguin which set out to punish sites that tried to implement more evasive techniques for trying to quickly rank their Websites on SERPs. These are techniques that Webmasters and SEO specialists were using for years that can now backfire and not only see you drop in rankings, but worse, even see you face possible de-indexing.
"These algorithm changes shifted the entire SEO landscape ... "
It's important that you understand what methods will work today and what won't and The SEO Black Book offers you an intuitive approach to ranking with SEO in today's competitive environment.

What I remember:
This book is a very concise book on how to do SEO. Although it about 4 years old now, the content and techniques can still be applied today.

Spoilers:
The first section of the book covers SEO what it means and the basics. The book then goes on to teach us about aged domains and how that can boost your ranking in the eyes of Google.
Chapter 3 goes into depth about keyword research and into the tools that you can download to help mirror the competition. Next, the author gets down to the code to talk about how to add SEO value while building the website and introduces the importance of tracking your results.

Adams, then covers why content is King in the SEO world. As well as how to generate that content. Because SEO is never effective alone on your site, the author teaches the reader about building back links, such as link pyramids and wheels. How to get help doing this, and some tips and tricks.

Finally, the author covers, some social media strategies, though it's a bit light because at the time of the writing social media wasn't as big of a factor as it is now. The author concludes by talking about the results you can expect and warns the user that it takes some time to get results and to keep doing the work until those results show themselves.

Some comments:
This book is really short and to the point. I listened to it on Audible, about 3 hours long, it's great if you need to get a crash course on SEO. I like it as I already know these techniques from other books, so I was able to take the author at face value in terms of the suggestions. It might be tricky for those new to SEO to understand why it works the way it does.

there are so many different theories out there on SEO, but I loved the straight forward position of the author! No BS! I can say after following some of his suggestions, boom I bumped to the first page fourth ranking. That's all I can ask for is movement. I haven't fully implemented everything, I have to review a few suggestions yet but am looking forward to the climb.

Actually the "Black Book" and "Industry secrets" are to loud words for this book.

Any more than usual info which you can find in beginners' blogs.
But maybe however in this book you can catch some new facts for yourself.

If you are new to SEO then this is a great book to read with all the basic information. If you are seasoned at SEO then this book can be a review guide. I would recommend this book to a business owner who doesn't want to pay for SEO services, this can be a valuable too.
