What a wonderful book. Did you ever wonder what it was like for the men and women in our military to go out on the battlefield and lose their lives fighting for your freedom? This book gives us a look into the thoughts and souls of our fallen heroes. This is a book that you will laugh and cry with the heroes. Dennis shows us how our military heroes think and feel and how they feel about giving their lives for the freedoms we should hold dear to our hearts. I came away with a new respect for the men and women who fight the wars for us.This is a must read.
I have listened to the audiobook and I'm sorry to say that the reader did not do the book any favours. Perhaps because the voice was too mature to represent a protagonist in his late twenties.
Still, the book was very moving and with a good insight into the feelings of both the soldiers who go into war and of their families who stay behind and experience the loss of a loved one.
The idea of this story was very intriguing. I began reading with enthusiasm to discover how it would develop, but found myself quickly advancing pages to find what I never did. Kudos for trying but I cannot recommend it.
