Mouthful of Feathers: Upland in America

Rate this book
Mouthful of Feathers is a writer’s collection focused on dogs and the pursuit of wild birds in wild places. The blog that spawned the book (and maintains a cult following) has been described as the ‘OG’ of hunting blogs. The 18 contributing writers—old and new—bring a diverse collection of experiences to life from around the country. Mouthful of Feathers is more than a hunting book, it is a book about the human condition. These are stories of dogs and birds; friends and mentors, love and loss.

A lovely collection of essays that will leave you suddenly intrigued by upland hunting. Took me forever to finish because almost each story left me in tears and required a few days of recovery. Definitely recommend!

Enjoyable collection of stories by a wide range of authors. You'll laugh, you'll cry, maybe yawn occasionally, but overall, a great book.
