The Viscount Claims His Bride - For years Valerian Inglemoore, Viscount St. Just, lived a double life as a secret agent on the war-torn Continent. Returning home, he knows exactly what he wants: to claim Philippa Stratten, the woman he gave up, as his bride. But Philippa is not the naive debutante he left behind...

The Earl's Forbidden Ward - Peyton Ramsden, Earl of Dursley, has no time for girls, especially those who are suddenly given over to his care! Miss Tessa Branscombe, in particular, is trouble. The innocent debutante tempts this very proper earl to misbehave-and forbidden fruit always tastes that much sweeter!

I couldn't decide between three and two so it is more like a 2.5!

The first book The Viscount Claims his BRide to be honest was completely meh for me. I couldn't get into but that is probably because I don't like the second chance already been in love trope. The writing it self was fine but I just couldn't engage with the characters and had absolutely no interest in their HEA.

So for me this book was a two star as it wasn't bad I just didn't have any urge to read it!

The second book The Earl's Forbidden Ward was a lot better. I was more engage in the characters and actually wanted them to have a HEA. Tessa was feisty and opinionated without being stubborn to the point of stupidty like some heroine I could mention. I also liked Peyton and felt bad for him at times due to his situation, but I won't say more as I don't like spoilers myself.

Overall this book was a three stars as I liked it, I just didn't love it. For me there wasn't enough focus on the relationship and a lot of it based on the eternal politic shanigans. They were entertaining don't get me wrong, just I wish Peyton and Tessa's relationship could have developed independently of the political plot for a bit.

So if you see this book in a charity shop, or cheaply in a supermarket like I did, its not a bad bargain and will keep you entertained for a little while!
