I loved the way CJ presented his materials that he seemed to have gone to a lot of work gathering it all. He made it very, very interesting and made it so that one did not really notice that they were bring instructed in Spiritual training on how to go out of one's way(s) to bring the gospel to others who may not allow one to do much teaching them in spiritual things, And also to put people in a glad type of shock by one example he gave was to buy the person's coffee who may be in front and or sometimes both those who are standing in front and /or often even the individuals standing behind him as well. Which he says are really impressed and thankful for his generosity in buying their coffee as well as his. I would recommend this great book to anyone who is looking for a way to be a blessing to others and wish to know how they could have a door open to witness to those who they feel need to share the Gospel In an I pushy way. This book was a free gift to me I exchange for their doing this Imam doing reviews for them. Thanks CJ and Shelley for doing this for me. Which also makes me feel great to be able to do some good and not having to have to ask for transportation to be able to give of my time and the learning I did while I was in Community college in Salt Lake City, Utah for almost five and a half years as I was having a problem finding the right vocation for myself. I gave him five stars for all the above descriptions I have already mentioned. Again, GREAT CREATION, CJ! Angela L.
CJ Hitz's book, 21 Days of Generosity Challenge: Experiencing the Joy That Comes From a Giving Heart, is just that -- challenging. This book is well written, convicting and to the point. CJ has packed this little daily reader with just what you need to regain or strengthen your generosity level all based on the Word of God.
My favorite part are the ideas for extending generosity to others that are included in each chapter. It is inspirational and will help me stay on track each day as I try to keep my priorities in order and show love to others in ways that bring God the glory.
I am always open to learning more about giving to others from my heart and listening for God's prompting to do so. Having CJ Hitz's nuggets of wisdom, divided up into small segments, almost like daily devotionals, is perfect. I also really liked the examples from his own life he shared where he was either giving or others or on the receiving end of someone else's generosity. In very short chapters which take only a few minutes to read, I can start our day on a great path toward generosity -- giving not only financially, but praying for others, offering my time, my talents, myself -- in ways I may not have thought of before.
I enjoyed this book tremendously! The author is insightful and straight to the point. If you'd like a daily devotional that will be uplifting and inspire you to be generous and give out of love for others, then this book is for you.

This book not only teaches you different ways to give to others. It shows you how to put them ways into practice in everyday situations. This book will be one I keep for reference for sure. I learned ways I never thought of to give to others. It's a short and to the point read. I highly recommend it to those who want to find ways to bless others and glorify the Lord at the same time.

"21 Days of Generosity Challenge", by CJ Hitz, is a basic, easy-to-read guide on the act of giving generously in everyday life.
With stories of people in need and examples of how to bless them, this book illustrates ways we can all help each other. Whether that be by sharing our time, talents, or resources, we all have something to give. This book helps us to look past the obvious way of getting out our checkbook, (although that is certainly one good way to be a blessing).
Read these stories and let your own ideas flow out of them. The challenge is to find ways in your life that you can be a blessing to others. What will you do for others, on Day 22?
The 21 days to Generosity Challenge challenged me on so many levels. I have always had a heart to serve and give to the needy but this devotional allowed me to see beyond the spirit of loving and being generous toward others. I now understand that this is what I am and was called to do. Reading this book has allowed me to appreciate and continue being generous because I know that through this heart, there is a blessing because of my obedience to serve others instead of just myself. Awesome book and a must read for those who need that boost of encouragement "Please note: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review."
To be honest, this was not my favourite kind of devotional. It started out, not with a Scripture to teach the principle, but with a personal story of how the author was able to be generous. It almost felt like bragging. I think I would have enjoyed the book more had the author bragged more about the generosity of others (and God!) towards him (and others), rather than talk about his own generosity. It also seemed as if most of the ways he talked about being generous involved financial means. Yes, that is perhaps the most common thing we think of when we think of being generous, but I have learned that being generous and kind doesn't have to cost a single cent! 2.5 stars
A great book. Each challenge is easy to follow. CJ shows us how to look to of how to ourselves to see our blessings. After watching his father spend time with "dirty Claude", he thinks of a wonderful way to bless others and ourselves and give glory to the LORD. I can't wait to start this challenge. Thank you for showing what I have been missing. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my review.
A 21-Day Devotional that focuses on a generous spirit. This book allowed me to examine my heart and intentions of being obedient to the Lord and His desire for me to be generous...not just financially but also, with my talents and time. CJ Hitz offers many ideas on ways to be generous. He has a great idea on Day 21! I won't spoil it. You can read it and find out!
This book is okay for those who may be young in the faith. There is nothing particularly profound here, but the author gives the reader a few things to chew on and some practical suggestions for increasing our generosity quotient.
We may think especially of generosity around key holidays. What I enjoyed about this book however is that author CJ Hitz has helped us understand generosity can be a regular part of our lives. He has carefully selected contributing individuals that will inspire you to not only give tangibly but also in terms of your time, concern, and love.
Giving, you will find, transcends age groups and the Lord teaches us at all levels that we cannot out give Him. Krystal Kuehn exhorts and challenges us that a sacrifice costs you something and are you willing to give it away. Perhaps an act of kindness shown to you can lead you toward a ministry like it did Carol Freed. These stories are heart-warming truths that can make a difference in the way you look at people and situations. Some of the other aspects you will learn include the following: ~ How tenderness toward others can make a huge difference in one's destiny. ~How canceling debt owed to us can help us reap much more in return ~ Gain valuable ideas for what you can do as random acts of kindness
Author Hitz shares an insight that can lead us all closer to generosity: "Its been my experience that the closer I am to the Lord...when I spend intimate time with the Author of generosity I have a greater desire to be generous..." I was reminded throughout this book that when facing the Lord someday what will matter is not what we own or what our position was in life. Rather, it is what we do for others where our crowns will be laid at His feet. This book will change your life and I recommend it highly.
"21 Days of Generosity Challenge: Experiencing the Joy That Comes From a Giving Heart" by C.J. Hitz is the latest entry in Hitz' "21 Days of..." series of Biblical helps. Why 21 days? According to Hitz and others, it takes just 21 days to adopt a new habit. By studying and utilizing this book, you can transform yourself into a generous person, and experience the joy of being always willing to give wisely to others in need.
Compassionate and Bible-based, this book will challenge you to become a giver to those in need all around you. Using scriptural references throughout, this book expands upon what the Bible has to say on the topic of generous giving. It also provides insight into giving wisely: how and why to not just "cast your pearls before the swine."
One simple but profound truth within these pages is the fact that everybody has something to give, whether it be money, food, time, or even a sympathetic ear. Another simple truth, as memorialized in a common adage, is that it is more blessed (better) to give than to receive. "21 Days of Generosity Challenge" uses these two truths to demonstrate how you - or anyone else - can be blessed by generously giving of resources, whatever they may be.
Even from a purely secular point of view, if everyone were to become more generous and giving, what an improvement we would all see in our society. "21 Days of Generosity" provides a blueprint for just such a social advance. Why not be the first on your block to begin building a better nation, starting with your own neighborhood?

REVIEW: This books give suggestions for various activities that can help to lead to a life of generosity. Found most of the suggestions repetitive of what I have read elsewhere. Quick easy read with good quotations for each suggestion.
FAVORITE QUOTATION: "We can do no great things; only small things with great love." Mother Teresa
I received this devotional for free as a PDF, in exchange for my honest review. This book is perfect for those who need that extra gentle nudge to step out of their comfort zone to be the hands and feet of Christ. I usually watch those around me and am aware of people's facial and body language, so for me, I have been doing some of the ideas mentioned in the book, but new ideas were presented to me as well. There were stories told that cause you to pause and consider how you can bless those around you. Whether you are someone who is already looking for the chance to be a blessing or if to you this is a new idea, pick up this book and be open to being used by God each and every day!
This book was simply amazing and encouraging. It shows that one act of kindness can make a total difference in someone's life. Some of the stories I read really tugged at my heart. It hit close to home and made me realize how we often take things for granted. If we can learn to stop for one minute in our busy lives, show some compassion and love one another, we can change the world one person at a time. You are never too old or too young to practice generosity. This book comes highly recommended!

This book is a great reminder that we need to be generous in everyday life, if only we could remember 1 Timothy 6:7-8 "After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content."...
