Max is back in Payback's a Beach, the sequel to Life's a Beach Then You Die.
When Brenda McCarthy wakes to the sound of police pounding on her door, her clothes are bloody and she doesn't know why. After detectives say her date's dead body washed up on the beach, she turns to private investigator Max Fried. Max wants to help her but neither he nor Brenda are so sure she's innocent.
Falafel Jones was named for a Mediterranean sandwich Mom craved while pregnant. While this name may have been a burden growing up, it provided a distinction from all of the other Joneses in town. In fact, things could have been worse. Ask Falafel's brother, a construction worker named Sweet Pickles.
I enjoyed also second book in the serie of Max Fried investigation. I like the way author Falafel Jones writes and I wish there were more than these 2 books in this excellent serie.
I did not see it coming. I never really thought of that guy being the killer. Well written with just enough character development to know who is who and where they fit into the plot.
Another fun Fried ride. Take a little bit of action, a little bit of mystery and a little bit of the beach and you have yourself a neat little book. Nothing too heart pounding, and nothing too serious, but if you’re looking for something that has some mystery and helps take you to the beach while your reading you should definitely look at eating this Falafel dish. As an added bonus these are great standalone so you can start from the beginning or just jump into the series here!
