This book of children's poems was a hoot to read. see what I did there? haha. The poems included are all about birds and things relating. Inside you'll find tales of Henry the third and many more exciting adventures with other animals. The poems have good rhythm and are easy for reading aloud to children. This book strikes me as a beginner's poem book and would work best with younger ages.
One of my favorite poems in this book is titled "Poem found in a sink". The poem offers wonderful opportunities for reading, writing, speaking, and listening practice. For young children, reading poetry aloud nurtures their enthusiasm for words and gives them the tools they need to become avid readers.
